According to reports, the students were ambushed outside the school campus by the assailants who whisked them to an unknown destination.
Some suspected kidnappers abducted two students of Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi, Benue State, outside the university’s campus on Tuesday night, February 25.

The students however claim that it was four of their colleagues that were abducted.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Sewuese Anene, said the report received by the command stated that it was two and not four students who were abducted.
“We received the information yesterday evening that two students were kidnapped.
"We have commenced an investigation, and further details will be provided soon” Anene said
