Residents Capture And K!ll Three Bandits Wounded During Gun Battle With Security Operatives In Katsina Community

The development follows an earlier attack on Monday night, February 25, 2025, when bandits, riding on about 100 motorcycles and armed with sophisticated weapons, stormed the village, firing sporadically.

Three bandits who sustained injuries during a gun duel with security agencies have been killed by residents of Tafoki village in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
 
The development follows an earlier attack on Monday night, February 25, 2025, when bandits, riding on about 100 motorcycles and armed with sophisticated weapons, stormed the village, firing sporadically.

A joint team of security forces engaged the assailants in a fierce gun battle.

Overpowered by superior firepower, the bandits retreated into a nearby forest.

Despite the successful repulsion, three villagers, Yakubu Mai Inji, 45, Ahmed Yahaya, 25, and one other were shot and k!lled.

Three others sustained injuries and were rushed to General Hospital, Funtua, for treatment. One person was abducted by the fleeing bandits.

During the exchange of gunfire, several bandits sustained injuries before fleeing into the forest.

Local sources, told security analyst, Zagazola Makama that three of the injured attackers were captured by villagers on Tuesday morning, February 26 and subsequently killed.

Security forces have been alerted to the development, while efforts to track down other fleeing bandits continue.

Meanwhile, the three victims were laid to rest on Tuesday morning.
