No fewer than four students have been kidnapped by suspected bandits near the Federal University, Dutsinma, in Katsina State.

The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday at Paris Quarters, located behind the university, according to security analyst and counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama.

Security operatives were reportedly mobilised to the scene immediately after receiving a distress call, but the kidnappers had already escaped with the students.

The incident has heightened fears among residents and students in the area, as banditry continues to pose a serious security threat in Katsina State.
