The Nigerian Police Force, NPF, has arrested a member of the Delta State Anti-Cult Volunteer Corps who shot a 19-year-old auxiliary nurse to d3ath in the Okpanam area of Asaba.
The state police command in 2022 inaugurated the Anti-Cult Volunteer Corps as part of its efforts to curb crime in the state.
It was gathered that the deceased identified as Isioma Nwayalani, was returning from work on Saturday evening, March 8, 2025 to Asaba when she met with her untimely d3ath.
Sources privy to the incident who refused to be named told Punch that one of the anti-cult officers was alighting from a vehicle when the gun accidentally shot and hit the girl.
"She was returning from work to Asaba in the evening when she was k!lled by a bullet from a gunshot by a member of the anti-cult group. The girl was rushed immediately to a nearby hospital where she was confirmed d3ad hours later,” a source narrated.
