As Nigerians continue to endure the hardship brought upon them by the increase in the price of petrol, an activist group has already taken to the streets in protest of the fuel price in the Yaba area of Lagos.

According to photos which accompanied a Tweet by SaharaReporters, a Joint Action Front activists, has this afternoon, taken to the streets and commenced an anti-fuel price march in the Yaba area of Lagos state.

The new price of petrol was announced last week by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu who said the price of petrol will now be selling at N145.

Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, later said the policy had become necessary due to foreign exchange shortage.

The policy has also been criticised by Nigerians who have expressed concern over the hardship it has brought.

The Nigerian Labour Congress also opposed the policy, threatening to embark on a strike from Wednesday, but Aviation workers and their counterparts in the oil sector, are backing the policy.
