Armed thugs have caused serious violence in a Lagos community as the NLC embarks on a strike action over fuel price.

Hoodlums have reportedly taken advantage of the confusion surrounding the labour union strike to unleash violence on Lagos residents.

Many of them, on Wednesday morning, created a blockade at the Fadeyi axis of the popular Ikorodu expressway.

It is not clear if the blockade was initially created by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) which says it would embark on an indefinite strike over the federal government’s decision to increase the pump price of petrol from N86.50 to N145.

Those going to work, Wednesday, said thugs were hurling stones and other dangerous objects at vehicles.

They were smashing windscreens thereby forcing buses, cars, and other vehicles from turning back from the axis.

They also were not sparing BRT buses.
