Popular TikTok star Alpha Charles has been granted bail.
Justice Huda Haruna of the Magistrate Court No. 17, in Kano State granted her bail after she was arraigned by the police on charges of defamation.
According to the charge sheet, Alpha Charles allegedly defamed Sadiya Haruna through posts made on social media platforms.
However, upon the charges being read, she pleaded not guilty.
Her legal counsel applied for bail, which the court approved under strict conditions.
The bail requires one surety who must be a blood relative and a civil servant not below Grade Level 16.
Additionally, should the defendant abscond, the surety is to forfeit the sum of Five Hundred Thousand Naira to the court.
The case has been adjourned for further hearing.
Sadiya Haruna was Ex-wife of the Popular Kana TikTOK star G-Fresh and boyfriend of the accused.
