It was gathered that the attackers traced the youth leader to his shop located along Akpehe Road, stabbed him multiple times and left him in a pool of blood.
A youth leader identified as Raphael Ikyav has been killed by hoodlums in Benue State, hours after he addressed his critics on Facebook.
A source said the incident happened in the Akpehe area in Makurdi, the state capital on Wednesday night, April 23, 2025.
"Some hoodlums attacked and murdered a youth mobilizer, Raphael Ikyav, popularly known as ‘Spanar’, along Akpehe Road in Makurdi, late hours of Wednesday,” the source said.
It was gathered that the attackers traced the youth leader to his shop located along Akpehe Road, stabbed him multiple times and left him in a pool of blood.
Spokesperson for the State Police Command, Catherine Anene, who confirmed the incident said that investigation is ongoing.
"The command has received a report about the killing of the youth leader and the investigation is ongoing,” the PPRO said.
In the Facebook post shared at about 10:40 am, he addressed his critics, writing; “Criticize me, gossip about me, damage my reputation, speak ill of me, I am unmoved. Your existence holds no value in my life!”
