Police Arrest Suspect, Recover Firearm, Ammunition In Nasarawa

The statement added that the Commissioner of Police has ordered a full investigation into the case, aiming to apprehend other associates and further curb criminal activities within the area and the state.

The Nasarawa State Police Command has achieved a major breakthrough with the arrest of a suspected criminal and the recovery of a firearm along with live ammunition during a raid in Karu Local Government Area.

Acting on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Shettima Jauro Mohammed, to sustain aggressive raids on criminal hideouts across the state, operatives attached to Masaka Division conducted a targeted operation at a black spot known as “Me and You” in the Masaka area on April 25, 2025, at about 10:30 p.m.

According to a statement signed by SP. Ramhan Nansel, the command’s spokesperson: “During the operation, one Buhari Mustapha, a 25-year-old male from Katsina State, was arrested.

“A thorough search led to the recovery of an English-made Beretta pistol with breech number APL-C42201378075 and twelve (12) rounds of 9mm live ammunition. The recovered items have been secured as exhibits.”


The statement added that the Commissioner of Police has ordered a full investigation into the case, aiming to apprehend other associates and further curb criminal activities within the area and the state.

CP Mohammed commended the operatives for their professionalism and urged them to maintain the momentum in the ongoing fight against crime.
