Barcelona forward, Luis Suarez has revealed his humble past before the fame and fortune he is basking in today as one of the best football strikers in the world.

In an intimate conversation with Jorge Valdano, the Pichichi 2016 winner recalled how he started as a young naughty boy in Montevideo, when he didn’t even have enough money to take the bus to training.

Suarez also gave a load-down on how he used to ‘leave his house 2 and a half hours before training’ so that he could get there on time on foot, as he couldn’t afford the bus fare.

He says that growing up in such hardship instilled a work ethic and determination in him, and that’s why he still chases down every ball, even when Barcelona are winning 5-0 in the 90th minute.

Suarez went on to speak on his incredible move to Barcelona which has already started paying off admitting that there was a ‘possibility’ of him moving to Real Madrid, but that as soon as Barcelona made their interest concrete, there was only one destination for him.

The free-scoring footballer spoke in Uruguayan language in a video clip that is yet to be fully translated to English language for the easy understanding of listeners from other parts of the world.
