All Progressives Congress Chieftains on Thursday, June 26 went into a strategic meeting bordering on the protracted crisis rocking the National Assembly.

About 28 Chieftains of the state chapters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday, June 25 went into a meeting in Abuja trying to take decisions on urgent matters affecting the party.

The meeting is coming after the Labour Party (LP) flayed the behaviour of the lawmakers on the platform of the APC in the House of Representatives, which led to the disruption of proceedings at the lower legislative chamber.

It was learnt that the state chairmen summoned the meeting to among others, deliberate on the crisis in the National Assembly and to articulate positions, which would be presented to the party’s national leadership.

According to a party source, the chairmen are worried that the party has not had its National Executive Council Meeting (NEC) since the last general election, which it won the presidency.
