Police Rescue Suspected Thief From Irate Mob In Akwa Ibom

The mob had placed a tyre around the suspect in readiness to set him ablaze when a team of policemen passing by stopped and intervened.

A suspected thief who was almost lynched by an angry mob has been rescued by the police in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
 
The suspect was nabbed on Tuesday morning, April 29, 2025 for allegedly theft.
 
The incident occurred at Abak road flyover, before the Church of Christ.  
 
The mob had placed a tyre around the suspect in readiness to set him ablaze when a team of policemen passing by stopped and intervened.
 
"Jungle justice was avoided in this way. By Abak road flyover, before Church of Christ, God graciously gave this young man a second chance. The police passed by, and intervened. That's how jungle justice was averted. My question is, "can a person escape jungle justice and go back to stealing"? Please say NO TO STEALING,
" an eyewitness, Midoho Abasi Sampson, wrote.
