A Nigerian preacher is currently trending online over his comments about single women and independence.

While preaching to members of his church, the cleric urged single women not to buy a car or own property so that there would be no power tussle between them and men.

“If you're a woman who wants to get married, don’t buy a house or a car. Don't live alone, stay with family or your sister. Because once you do, you’ll have a power tussle with a man and you won't be able to get married. You’ll start asking, ‘Who do you think you are?’ because you can now afford your own needs.” he said

He went on to kick against young female undergraduates staying in hostels. According to him, such ladies end up becoming prost!tutes.

“All those students who insist on staying in school hostels are now pr0stitutes. You send your 19-year-old daughter to school, and the world already calls her a pr0stitute. That man you’re scared of, your daughter is already sleeping with him.

Do you know how cheap pr0stitution is? Even 10 rands can carry your daughter—the same one you think is a medical doctor.

It’s better for your children to school from home.”
