Some Nigerians perceive it as a political statement as many Nigerian politicians have begun move towards making an impression in the 2027 general election.
Nigerians on the X platform are reacting to photos shared by the immediate past governor of Kaduna state, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, where he attended a funeral mass in a church in Okija, Anambra state.
The politician posted photos of himself in the church on his handle with the former governor of Imo state, Emeka Ihedioha and wrote;
‘’We joined the Anohu family at the funeral mass held this morning in Okija for Chief Mathias Chidi Anohu. May his kind soul rest in peace.''

One of such is El-Rufai who has since defected from APC to SDP and has been working towards unseating the government of the day.
