Commotion As Woman Rescued From Committing Su!cide In Aba River

No explanation was given by the woman for her action as she was seen lying on a pavement at the river bank, without uttering words.

Residents of the waterside area of Okpulo Umuobo in Aba, Abia State, have rescued an unidentified woman who attempted to take her own life by jumping into a river.

The incident happened on Tuesday when the woman wanted to take her own life.

No explanation was given by the woman for her action as she was seen lying on a pavement at the river bank, without uttering words.

The news of the attempted su!cide drew many residents to the waterslide, with some of them speculating that the woman may have been frustration by the economic hardship in the country or by her male partner.

Responding to a message from Daily Post, the spokesperson of Abia State Police Command, DSP Maureen Chinaka said that the incident was reported to the nearest Police station by Enyimba FM.

“Enyimba FM reported to the nearest police station who assisted in her rescue”,
the DSP said.
