Police Open Fire On Vehicle During Stop-And-Search, Kill 400-Level Student

Ella met her tragic end after officers of the Nigeria Police Force allegedly opened fire on a vehicle during a stop-and-search operation at Wurukum Roundabout in Makurdi, Benue State.

A 400-level student of Kwararafa University, identified as Ella, has reportedly been shot and killed by officers of the Nigeria Police in Benue State.

Ella met her tragic end after officers of the Nigeria Police Force allegedly opened fire on a vehicle during a stop-and-search operation at Wurukum Roundabout in Makurdi, Benue State.

According to human rights activist, Ukan Kurugh, the victim was in the vehicle when officers attached to the Makurdi E Division discharged their weapons, with a bullet fatally striking her.

Kurugh described the killing as “another unacceptable loss of innocent life” and demanded justice for the slain student.

A Daily Post correspondent reached out to the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, Catherine Anene, for comments.

She responded via text, stating, “I will call you back.”

As of press time, no further response had been received.
