Reacting to the news, activist Aisha Yesufu took to social media platform X to condemn the situation.

Activist, Aisha Yesufu has accused the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Registrar of targeting people of the Southeast.

This comes after JAMB registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyede acknowledged errors that negatively impacted students’ performance in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

JAMB had earlier reported that out of the 1.9 million candidates who took the exam, more than 1.5 million scored below 200 out of 400—a figure that alarmed many education stakeholders.

Oloyede further revealed that 379,997 candidates from the five South-East states were among those most affected by the technical issues and would be allowed to retake the exam.

Reacting to the news, activist Aisha Yesufu took to social media platform X to condemn the situation.

She wrote: “It is no longer subtle! Even the dead can see that the South-East is being targeted!”

“Millions of children were killed and today you want to destroy the education of hundreds of thousands of children.”
