Police Foil Attempted Smuggling of Four Nigerian Women And Three Children in Libya

According to Migrant Rescue Watch, the driver offered a bribe to police officers in an attempt to evade arrest.

 
A driver involved in smuggling has been arrested for attempting to smuggle four Nigerian women and three children in Libya.
 
Information gathered revealed that the arrest was made during inspection at the Ashkada-Sabha Triangle Gate on Monday, May 19, 2025.
 
According to Migrant Rescue Watch, the driver offered a bribe to police officers in an attempt to evade arrest. 
 
The individuals have been transferred to Al-Shatti Security Directorate for further legal action. 
 
"Police during inspection at the Ashkada-Sabha Triangle Gate thwarted an attempted human smuggling and arrested a Libyan driver ('Y. A. M. Y.', born in 1993) who transported 4 undocumented migrant females and 3 children of Nigerian nationality,” the post read.
 
“During inspection the driver offered a bribe to police officers in an attempt to evade accountability. All transferred to Al-Shatti Security Directorate pending referral to competent judicial authorities.”
