Nigerian workers have protested over unpaid arrears of allowances and other emoluments.

The workers under the auspices of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC, on Tuesday staged a protest at the Federal Ministry of Finance headquarters in Abuja.

The workers, who declined to speak to the media, carried placards during the protest, highlighting grievances related to outstanding financial entitlements owed to staff.

A civil servant with the ministry, who spoke to DAILY POST, stated that access to the premises had been disrupted by the protest.

“You can see that our office has been blocked. We don’t even know the full reason yet,” the staff member said.

The Federal Ministry of Finance has not issued an official statement regarding the protest or the specific demands of the workers as at the time of filing this report.
