In order to convince his girlfriend to marry him, one Hubei man planned to fall from the sky, gallantly parachuting down right in front of her, before dropping to one knee and asking her to be his forever. But apparently Mother Nature knew something he didn't and tried to save him the embarrassment.
At first, this Casanova from Yichang city in Hubei province seemed to be right on course. But at that critical moment fate interviewed, as it often does, in the form of a strong gust of wind that swept him and his parachute reading, "Gou Hongyun, marry me!" straight into a tall tree.
Trapped at the top of a tree for over an hour awaiting rescue from firefighters, the guy had some time to think about things. Maybe the world was trying to tell him something?
And she said "no" and walked away.
