Sources told security analyst, Zagazola Makama that the suspect was apprehended on May 21 at about 5:35 p.m. in the Oshin-Welder area of Ayobo, a suburb of Lagos.
The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended 39-year-old Kabiru Oyedun, a fugitive who escaped from the Ilesa Correctional Centre in Osun State.
Sources told security analyst, Zagazola Makama that the suspect was apprehended on May 21 at about 5:35 p.m. in the Oshin-Welder area of Ayobo, a suburb of Lagos.
According to a police source from Lagos Zone 2 Police Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, the arrest followed a tip-off from members of the public who sighted the suspect and alerted the police.
"A team of police detectives was swiftly mobilised to the area and successfully apprehended the suspect without incident,” he said.
The sources added that the Lagos State Comptroller of Corrections has been contacted and is expected to take custody of the fugitive for onward transfer to the Osun State Correctional Service for further action.
