A truly tragic event unfolded in Atta, Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State, during the week as suspected kidnappers fatally shot a young man while he tried to escape their grasp.

In a desperate bid to flee, the man freed himself from the abductors’ grip and ran for his life.
The hoodlums ran after him firing several shots and killed the victim.
According to eyewitnesses, the operatives from the Ikeduru police division arrived at the scene two days later and took the deceased to a mortuary.
Imo State Police Command spokesman, Henry Okoye, confirmed the incident yesterday, stating: “The Command is aware of this unfortunate incident that happened on 21/05/2025 and has launched a detailed investigation to apprehend the miscreants responsible for his untimely death.”
