Despite reportedly meeting the bail conditions set by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Femi Fani-Kayode will still be detained for another one month according to a detention warrant from an Ikeja Magistrate today.
Erstwhile Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode who f
ew days ago decried that despite meeting the bail conditions set by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), he is still being held by the anti-graft agency, has been hit with more trouble today.
The embattled former director of media and publicity of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign organisation, was
moved from Abuja to Lagos last week Friday
"for further interrogation over fraud charges."
In a Tweet posted by SaharaReporters on their official page, the nation's anti-graft agency, EFCC, has obtained a 30-day detention warrant from an Ikeja Magistrate to extend the detention of Femi Fani-Kayode.
Femi Fani-Kayode who served as the Director of Publicity of the Goodluck Jonathan during the 2015 presidential election, was arrested on 2 weeks ago for receiving N840million.
The money, which Fani-Kayode admitted to receiving, was said to have emanated from the account of the Central Bank of Nigeria. The ex-minister had, however, insisted that he did not know that the money emanated from the CBN because he was assured by the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party that the money was sourced from private individuals.
