Veteran actress Rita Edochie has called out Nigerians glorifying immorality and social decay.
In a post on Instagram, she also kicked against the culture of normalizing child abuse and irresponsible behaviour on social media.
She wrote: “UWA MMEBI......
PEOPLE NOW DO THE UNIMAGINABLE, PUBLICLY COME BEFORE THE WORLD AND BRAG WITH THEIR SHOULDERS HIGH. HMMMMM. WHERE'S THE REMORSE?”
In her caption, she further criticised how social media often fuels the problem:
“IMMORALITY AT ITS HIGHEST PEAK.
WHEN HAS CHILD ABUSE BECOME LEGAL?
WHEN HAS KEEPING AN AFFAIR WITH UNDERAGE (LESS THAN 18) BECOME A THING TO BE PROUD OF?
THE SICKENING THING HERE IS THAT SOCIAL MEDIA IS NOT EVEN HELPING MATTERS.
THEY HYPE AND TAKE SIDES WITH THIS EV!L WITH REASONS THAT ARE NEVER JUSTIFIABLE.
MAY GOD ALMIGHTY HELP THIS GENERATION.”
