According to him, under the law, long occupancy of a property makes one the owner.

 
Abuja-based lawyer, Stan Alieke has sent a message to homeless Nigerians all over the country.
 
He urged them to move into any abandoned building they see and live in it.
 
According to him, under the law, long occupancy of a property makes one the owner.
 
If a person resides in an abandoned building for a long time and no one shows up to claim it, such a person can apply for the legal title of the property to become the owner.
 
He stated that under the law, this is known as adverse possession.
