A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Mohammed Abdullahi, a former minister of environment under the administration of ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, has dumped the party.

He announced his resignation in a letter dated June 1 and addressed to the APC chairman of his Uke ward in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. The letter was also copied to other party officials.

Abdullahi, who cited personal reasons for his departure, expressed gratitude for the support he received during his time with the party.

“I hereby tender my resignation as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) based on personal reasons,” the letter stated. “I thank you for the cooperation while I was in the APC where we made modest contributions in building the party in the state. I wish you and the party good luck.”

Abdullahi initially served as minister of state for science and technology before he was redeployed to the environment ministry under Buhari’s government. He had also served as attorney-general and commissioner for justice in Nasarawa State during Abdullahi Adamu’s tenure as governor, and later as secretary to the state government (SSG) under Governor Umar Tanko Al-Makura.
