The incident happened while Wike was inspecting the Interchange and part of Gishiri Road in Abuja.

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), broke protocol to acknowledge and respond to greetings from primary school children and their teachers as they hailed him from within their school premises.

The incident happened while Wike was inspecting the Interchange and part of Gishiri Road in Abuja.

On sighting Wike, the pupils and teachers at Foursquare New Heights Academy in Gishiri started cheering him.

This prompted the Minister to walk over to them, shake hands, and take photos.

Speaking with journalists, Wike said: “So, we are happy. We are very, very happy that the people of Abuja are happy.

“You can see the joy of the children, and they are all feeling the impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda.”

Wike has been up and doing with the construction of roads and bridges since he became Minister.

The Minister has also been working towards restoring the Abuja master plan.

Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu is expected to commission some projects completed by Wike starting from June 10.
