Nigeria’s Akintoye Named Among 18 Referees For WAFCON 2024

The 30-year-old was selected following her impressive performance at the preparatory course in Cairo, Egypt.

Nigerian referee Yemisi Eunice Akintoye has been selected by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as one of 18 officials to officiate at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Akintoye is a member of the Lagos State Football Referees Council.

The 30-year-old was selected following her impressive performance at the preparatory course in Cairo, Egypt.

She has officiated in the WAFU Women’s Champions League and CAF Women’s Champions League in the past.

Morocco will host the WAFCON 2024 finals from Saturday, 5 July to Saturday, 26, 2025.

The Banyana Banyana of South Africa are the defending champions of the competition.
