Jigan revealed what he did to overcoming bodyshaming while speaking in an interview on Oyinmomo TV.

Actor Abimbola Kazeem aka Jigan Babaoja has opened up on how he overcame bodyshaming.

Recall that the actor is physically disabled.

Speaking in an interview on Oyinmomo TV, Jigan said he has developed a strong mindset that allows him to brush off insults and mockery from a tender age.

Growing up, the comic actor said he faced harsh name-calling from peers, but by age eight, he had learned to overcome body-shaming.

According to Jigan, he doesn’t see himself as disabled, as he’s able to perform various physical activities like running, jumping, and playing football.

“What happened is I have taken these things off my mind. I have taken it off my mind since I was eight years old. I do not know if I have an injury on my leg. The only time I know I am living with disability is when I look into the mirror.

“This is because I can literally do everything. I can run. I can jump. I can play football. There is nothing I cannot do. Even when it comes to (sexual intercourse), I do better than a two-legged person. I like to do all those hard things”, he said.

He encouraged others with disabilities to embrace their uniqueness and recognise their inner strength.

“My advice to people like me is that they should observe my life. Before you abuse me, I would have abused myself. There is nothing anyone can say to me that would pain me. They should accept that that is how God does his thing,” he said.

With a career spanning over a decade, his viral “So Mo Age Mi” challenge in 2018 skyrocketed his career.
