Court Frees 9 Benue Protesters, Others Still In Custody

Despite the release, several others remain in custody, with no clear update on their legal status.

 
A court has released nine protesters arrested during a recent protest demanding an end to the killings in Benue State.
 
The nine individuals were released after sustained agitation and public outcry over the detention of the demonstrators, who were reportedly picked up during peaceful protests across parts of the state.
 
Despite the release, several others remain in custody, with no clear update on their legal status.
 
Family members and supporters who thronged the court premises cheered the development but voiced strong concern for those still being held.
