Ndume also revealed that he has been attending the meetings organized by members of the coalition.

Ali Ndume, the Senator representing Borno South, has admitted he could join the coalition which is seeking to remove President Bola Tinubu from power in 2027.

Ndume, however, insisted he does not want to jump “from frying pan to fire”.

The lawmaker stated this while speaking on Arise TV on Tuesday night.

Ndume also revealed that he has been attending the meetings organized by members of the coalition.

“I am aware of the opposition coalition. I have gone to several of their meetings,” he said.

Ndume was then specifically asked if the coalition have made overtures to him.

He replied: “Yes, but I told them no.

“I don’t want to jump from frying pan to fire. I have to be sure.

“I am a loyal person and I have my reasons for being loyal.”

Ndume’s comments come amid speculation that the coalition is looking to adopt the proposed All Democratic Alliance, ADA.

ADA is a new political party that recently applied to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for registration.

The coalition is spearheaded by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; former Kaduna state governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, former Anambra state governor, Peter Obi; former Rivers state governor, Rotimi Amaechi; and other prominent politicians.
