A recently married couple have died in a fatal accident just hours after getting married.
The sad incident happened in Gurugu, a Tamale suburb in Ghana's Northern Region.
The couple have been identified as Salifu Abdul Rashad and Alhassan Ayisha.
The accident happened at approximately 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 22, 2025, several hours after the couple's wedding celebration earlier that day.
It was reported that the bride died at the scene, and the groom was taken to the hospital but passed away soon after due to his injuries.
The couple was travelling from the bride's family home to the groom's rented apartment in Gurugu on their motorcycle when they collided with a car.
Their bodies have since been taken to the Tamale Teaching Hospital Morgue for autopsy and preservation.
