Peter Obi, the Labour party's presidential candidate in the 2023 general election has called out President Bola Tinubu.
Obi lamented over the spate of k!llings in the country.
According to him, Nigerians can't live in denial any longer.
He was reacting to the murder of 17 soldiers in Niger State and the wanton killing of more than 100 people in Zamfara State are indications that Nigeria is at a crossroads, and the president must acknowledge this reality and take decisive action.
Obi continued by saying that governance must now focus on saving lives rather than cutting ribbons and making headlines.
His statement reads:
‘’The de@ths in our country continue unabated, as one reads the heartbreaking stories that have become our daily reality.
With the brutal killings of over 100 people in Zamfara, including our revered military men, Mr. President, it is time to accept the inevitable truth and act decisively.
Nigeria is at war. We can no longer afford the dangerous denial. The number of lives lost in Nigeria now mirrors countries at war, and the de@th in our own country even happens more often than in countries at war.
We cannot continue like this. It is time to prioritise the security of lives over infrastructure projects. Governance must now become about saving lives, not cutting ribbons and headlining ceremonies on front pages.Travel packages
