At least 74 suspected internet fraudsters have been arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The alleged fraudsters were arrested on Monday, at Joyous Hotel in Nyanya, a suburb of the capital city, following credible intelligence linking them to internet-related crimes.
According to a statement by the EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, items recovered during the operation include 86 mobile phones, a rifle pistol, and three motorcycles.
Oyewale added that the suspects would be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of ongoing investigations.
The statement read, “Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested 74 suspected internet fraudsters.
“They were arrested on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Joyous Hotel, Nyanya in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, following actionable intelligence on their suspected involvement in internet-related offences.
“Items recovered from them include 86 phones, one rifle pistol and three motorcycles. They will be charged to court soon.”
