The Interim National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Dr. Yunusa Tanko has made a clarification.

According to him, there is no discussions between the Mr Peter Obi, and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar over a potential joint ticket for the 2027 general elections.

Tanko spoke on Tuesday while fielding questions on Arise Television’s Prime Time a programme.

“That topic hasn’t even come up. People are speculating, but there’s no such talk now,” he said.

Tanko, however, confirmed that consultations were ongoing with like-minded political parties and stakeholders.

He stressed that any future alliance must be driven by national interest rather than elite political arrangements.

Tanko also announced that the movement’s current focus is on building a broad-based coalition grounded in integrity, inclusiveness, and service to the Nigerian people.

Tanko further said that Obi will stick to it to serve only one term if required by a coalition agreement, noting that he’s a man of his word.
