A Nigerian soldier, Lance Corporal Ahmada A has reportedly beaten a phone repairer, Alkasum Ibrahim to death.
The incident happened in Mayo-Belwa area of Adamawa State, over a delayed repair of his girlfriend’s mobile phone.
Sahara Reporters reported that the soldier allegedly attacked the technician, Alkasum Ibrahim, on Wednesday after his girlfriend complained that her phone had not been fixed on time.
Witnesses said the woman had taken her phone to Alkasum’s shop earlier, but the repair was delayed due to undisclosed reasons. Upset by the delay, she reportedly contacted her boyfriend.
Shortly after, the soldier stormed the shop and violently assaulted the young technician.
Alkasum was left unconscious and later died from the injuries he sustained.
The incident has sparked public outrage, with many calling for justice and condemning the use of force by military personnel against civilians.
