Eyewitnesses said it took nearly an hour to rescue the victims, including the badly injured driver.
All three have been taken to the hospital for treatment.
The spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Plateau, Peter Yakubu Longsang, confirmed the incident, noting that the trailer has been removed and normal traffic has resumed.
