A popular Muslim cleric has revealed that gay s*x disgusts Allah and that indulging in it causes earthquakes.
A Muslim cleric in Ghana has made a shocking revelation as he defended rising attacks on homosexuals in the country after claiming gay s*x 'disgusts Allah' and 'causes earthquakes'.
According to a report by News Ghana, Mallam Abass Mahmud made the shocking comment while trying to justify the hostility among Zongo communities in Kumasi and the capital Accra towards people in same-s*x relationships.
He said in an interview: 'Allah gets annoyed when males engage in sexual encounter and such disgusting encounter causes earthquake.'
It has been gathered that many gay men in the region have fled their homes to avoid being attacked.
Mahmud said Allah destroyed the ancient cities of Sodom and Gomorrah 'as the result of homosexuality'.
The cleric added: 'Should we allow such a shame to continue in our communities against our holy teachings?
'Certainly no, and we are very happy to chase away such idiots from our Zongo communities.'
Homesexuality in Ghana is illegal, it is highly condemned as the people do not have tolerance for people associated with such sexual behaviour.
Ghana criminalizes sodomy, under the country’s law, a “person who has unnatural carnal knowledge with another person of not less than sixteen years of age with the consent of that other person commits a misdemeanor,” an offense punishable on conviction by a maximum three-year prison term. 'Unnatural carnal knowledge' involves 'sexual intercourse with a person in an unnatural manner' and requires 'the least degree of penetration.”
