EFCC Arrests 12 in Lagos Over Alleged Internet Fraud

The operation followed credible intelligence indicating the presence of individuals allegedly involved in internet-related criminal activities.

 
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has arrested 12 alleged yahoo boys in Lagos.
 
This is according to information released by the EFCC’s Lagos Zonal Directorate 2.
 
The arrests were made on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, during a sting operation in the Ajegunle-Apapa axis.
 
The operation followed credible intelligence indicating the presence of individuals allegedly involved in internet-related criminal activities.
 
EFCC stated that the suspects are currently undergoing profiling, and formal charges will be filed once investigations are concluded and supporting evidence consolidated.
