Reality star and disc jockey, Tolani Shobanjo aka Tolani Baj has broken her silence after being accused of theft.
The accusation was made by an event promoter.
The promoter had alleged that the reality star got paid for a show in Halifax, Canada but refused to show up.
According to the promoter, Tolani Baj absconded with the deposit without issuing a refund.
Reacting to the allegations, Tolani said she left because the promoters did not do their due diligence.
She wrote: “I want to take a moment to address some of the false narratives circulating about the recent event in Halifax. I was booked for a show, I showed up excited and fully ready to perform which there’s visible proof of that on my page.
“Unfortunately, due to the fact that a sound check was not conducted (which is a standard part of my contract) a technical issue with the controller went unnoticed until it was in time for me to play. I was informed that the venue wasn’t ready when we arrived at the city because of weather conditions, which led to the event being moved from a day party to a night party.
“Had the sound check been done, the issue could’ve been caught and resolved before the performance. It’s quite disappointing to be called names or accused of theft when I was present at the venue & ready to deliver. I was paid 50% at the end of this booking for transparency purposes which is understandable due to the unforeseen circumstance.”
