A devastating fire has ravaged Exclusive Bar, a well-known entertainment spot in Umuahia, the capital of Abia State, destroying properties valued at millions of naira.

The business outfit is located near a hospital and the state headquarters of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC.
The fire gutted many goods in the bar. Staff on duty and residents of the World Bank area made concerted efforts to put out the fire while putting calls across to the Abia State Fire Service .
It was gathered that men of Abia Fire Service who arrived at the scene, helped in extinguishing the fire, preventing it from spreading to the adjacent hospital and other buildings.
When contacted on Wednesday, the Chief Fire Officer of Abia State Fire Service, Nnanna Arua, confirmed the development.
Arua said that his men were mobilised to the place to stop the fire, even as he said that Abia State Fire Service was not informed immediately the fire broke out.
The Chief Fire Officer who said that official investigations have not been concluded on the incident, explained that preliminary findings suggested that the fire outbreak could have originated from a power surge.
He admonished Abia residents to install fire extinguishers in their homes, offices and business centres and to quickly put a call to the Service Service whenever there is a fire outbreak.
