Authorities say Patrick, who lived in the house with the couple and her younger sibling, was the one who called 911 after the 6-year-old discovered the bodies.
A 17-year-old girl, Sarah Grace Patrick has been arrested for the murder of her mother and stepfather nearly six months after their deaths.
This is according to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.
Patrick is accused of killing 41-year-old Kristin Brock and 45-year-old James Brock, who were found shot dead in their bed on February 20 in their Carrollton home.
Authorities say Patrick, who lived in the house with the couple and her younger sibling, was the one who called 911 after the 6-year-old discovered the bodies.
She now faces two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault and is being tried as an adult.
Officials revealed that Patrick turned herself in on July 8 after being informed of an arrest warrant. She was brought to the sheriff’s office by her father.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation is still ongoing and hinted that more arrests could follow as new evidence emerges.
A $5,000 reward had earlier been offered by the family for any information leading to an arrest.
Kristin’s father, Dennis Nolan, said at the time, “This is so horrendous. You just can’t imagine someone taking the lives of two good people.”
