24Hrs Electricity: See the Buhari's 2015 Campaign Poster that Got People Angry

As President Muhammadu Buhari's administration of 'change' under the banner of the All Progressives Congress clocks a year in less than four days, a section of Nigerians are currently gnashing their teeth in sober reflection over the campaign promises of the ruling party.

The campaign poster in question

Above is an election campaign poster of President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo during the highly heated presidential election in Nigeria last year, 2015.

The poster promises a 24-hour supply of electricity which has been a historical challenge in Nigeria since the adoption of democracy in the year 1999. Although this wasn't stated on the All Progressives Congress's party manifesto in a verbatim form, Nigerians are currently licking their wounds as a result of reduced power supply and a 45% increment in electricity tariffs.

The power generation in the country currently stands at 1,400 Megawatts which is a far cry from the minimum of 25,000MW needed to illuminate the 36 states in Nigeria with a population of over 170 million.

A top commenter on social media has this to say:

"On behalf of Me, Myself and I, I Felicitate with the Lying Liars on the occasion of their one year in office. Well done Sir!!

"Nigerians are thanking you for the light wey no blink since May 29th 2015!! More palm oyel to your elbows!!!
Up Change!!!"
