Benue K!llings: 10-month-old Baby Who Survived Yelewata Attack Discharged From Hospital

The baby was among the survivors found by a good Samaritan who was fleeing the scene. Sadly, his mother and three siblings didn't survive.

 
A ten-month-old baby has been discharged from the hospital after surviving the Yelewata massacre in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
 
The minor, Aondosoo Targule Aya was officially discharged from the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH), Makurdi on Thursday, 17th July 2025, after months of medical care and recovery. 
 
Aondosor sustained a machete wound on the left side of his buttocks during the d3adly Fulani herdsmen attack, which left over 200 people, mainly children, women, and the elderly d3ad. 
 
The baby was among the survivors found by a good Samaritan who was fleeing the scene. Sadly, his mother and three siblings didn't survive.
 
Tsenzughul Moses, the Ag. Head, Public Relations & Protocol of BSUTH, who confirmed the development in a statement on Friday, said the child's father, Aya Targule, expressed deep gratitude to the hospital management and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) for the care given to his only surviving child.
 
Targule also thanked the doctors and nurses for their dedication and tireless efforts to save Aondosoo's life, despite the loss of his wife and three other children in the incident.
 
He prayed that God would bless and reward all the hospital staff for their compassion and support during the family’s most difficult moment.
