Panic As Bandits Stage Fresh Attack, Kidnap 25 Women In Midnight Raid In Zamfara

The assailants stormed the community under the cover of darkness, targeting households and abducting only females in what has been described as a grave case of Gender-Based Violence, GBV, with a high risk of s*xual abuse.

No fewer than 25 females, comprising married women and young girls, were abducted on Saturday night following a deadly invasion by armed bandits in Kwanar Na Uwa, located in the Tofa District of Bungudu Local Government Area, Zamfara State.

The assailants stormed the community under the cover of darkness, targeting households and abducting only females in what has been described as a grave case of Gender-Based Violence, GBV, with a high risk of sexual abuse.

According to a post on Sunday by security analyst Bakatsine via X: “Yesterday night, bandits invaded Kwanar Na Uwa in Tofa District, Bungudu LGA, Zamfara.

"They abducted 25 females, both married women and young girls. This is a grave case of Gender-Based Violence, GBV, with high risk of sexual abuse,” the post read.
