A 41-year-old woman was discovered de@d in a suspected case of suicide at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) Prayer City, situated along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The incident occurred on Friday.
The deceased, identified as Benita Lurk Ikuenobe, was found unresponsive inside the main auditorium of the worship centre.
The disturbing discovery was reported by the church’s Chief Security Officer, Esiere Ekikere, who revealed that he received an emergency call around 7:20 a.m., alerting him to an unconscious woman lying on the auditorium floor.
Upon reaching the location, Ekikere said he found the woman motionless, with an empty bottle of a suspected toxic substance, believed to be Sniper, beside her. The incident was immediately reported to the police.
Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and carried out preliminary documentation, including photographing the area for investigative purposes.
The body was subsequently evacuated and deposited at Real Divine Hospital morgue, where an autopsy is expected to be conducted to confirm the exact cause of death.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
