Davido wanted to sign him to his record label but his (CDQ’s) producer, Masterkraft wanted something else.
Popular Nigerian rapper, CDQ has opened up on why Davido's offer to sign him didn't go through.
According to him, he turned down the offer.
Speaking on the matter, the singer revealed that following the success of his breakthrough single ‘Indomie’, Davido wanted to sign him to his record label but his (CDQ’s) producer, Masterkraft, opted for a partnership instead, which the DMW boss declined.
He disclosed this in a recent interview with the Echo Room.
CDQ said, “Davido reached out to me through Twitter back then that he wanted to sign me. He told me he just made a lot of money from his African tour and wanted to invest it in money and make me the biggest rapper in Africa.
“I told him whatever I’m doing, Masterkraft has to be involved. So, me and Masterkraft went to a meeting with him, and he told him that CDQ is already a movement on the streets and should consider a partnership instead of a recording deal but Davido decline and the deal fell through.”
