The state police command then asked the young girl and her family to come to the police for an investigation to be carried out and their money refunded to them.

The spokesperson of the Delta State Police Command, SP Bright Edafe, has shared a video of the 11-year-old girl who was arrested and later granted bail for N500,000 at the Ekpan Police Division, in which she admits to being used for trafficking hard drugs.

We had earlier shared the story of an X user asking for justice after the minor was apprehended with some ‘suspected drug traffickers’ while commuting in a tricycle in the Ekpan area of the state on Thursday, July 24.

The story received wide reactions with many condemning the police for arresting a minor.

The state police command then asked the young girl and her family to come to the police for an investigation to be carried out and their money refunded to them.

This afternoon, Edafe shared a video of the minor owning up to the crime. Her guardian who recruited her to traffic drugs was also interrogated. The guardian said she purchased the hard drugs for N100, 000 and asked the girl to go pick them up from her supplier.

The police believe that the girl was used so as to deceive security agents and prevent her from being searched. However, on Thursday, July 24, security agents stopped the tricycle she boarded, searched her bag and found the banned substance.
