FG Reacts to Ongoing Nationwide Strike by Nurses And Midwives

Recall that Nigerian Nurses and Midwives embarked on an warning strike today.

 
The federal government has begged the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives to suspend its ongoing strike.
 
Speaking through the Minister of Labour, Muhammadu Dingyadi, FG urged them to embrace dialogue while the government continues to work on addressing their concerns.
 
This was contained in a statement on Wednesday by the Head of Press and Public Relations in the Ministry of Labour, Patience Onuoha.
 
The statement explained that the minister held a meeting with the association on Tuesday in a bid to stop the industrial action.
 
It added that the meeting will continue on Friday at the Ministry of Health, as the government works out a resolution to the dispute.
 
Recall that the nurses on Wednesday commenced a seven-day warning strike despite appeals by the Federal Government against proceeding with the action, demanding improved welfare, fair allowances, and better working conditions for nurses across federal health institutions.
