Bashir El-Rufai, son of former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai has declared support for Mr Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 election.
According to him, he will vote for Obi if he emerges the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress.
The statement comes after an X user asked Bashir if he will support Obi if he emerges as the ADC flag bearer.
Responding to the question, the younger El-Rufai said he will certainly support him, adding that Obi might save the nation from those he described as ‘urban bandits’ in the Presidential Villa.
He said: “An emphatic yes. He may save us from these urban bandits in the Presidential Villa.”
Recall that Bashir had on Thursday suggested that the sheer force of Peter Obi’s numbers and cult-like followership poses a serious challenge to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
According to him, the 2019 presidential election would have been Atiku’s best shot at the presidency.
